My friend Sarah Bickford got her mission call yesterday: the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission. She reports end June. And of course Kristy Irvine: Korea Seoul Mission reporting July 18. On a whole other spectrum, I have quite a few friends also who have just gotten married/are getting married soon. Kaisha, Angela Dynes, Yulia, Chelsea, Clarissa, Mallerie and Dave, Kedra Davis.

BUT if you count friends that I have on missions right now: Sisters Lai, Chong, Sum, Jackson, Leung, it adds up! It's a 1:1 ratio...one going on a mission for every one getting married.

Okay...so it's not the best statistical analysis ever. But hey, according to facebook, I only have 391 friends at BYU. Something's gotta give. :)

Ash and I watched The Banquet on Saturday. A loose adaptation of Hamlet. First, the whole stupid thing kept having blood spraying all over and stabbing sounds and etc. A lot of fighting scenes. And of course, anyone that is significant dies in the end. Surprise, surprise. Do the Chinese not know happy endings? Because Zhang Ziyi has died in every single "epic" movie that she's been in that I have seen. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. House of Flying Daggers. This one. (She doesn't die in Memoirs of a Geisha but that one is Japanese based.) But do you realize one trend? Her characters are all disgusting in one way or another. And the costuming wasn't very creative. The imperial guards looked like the Lord of the Rings Nazgul/Ringwraiths. The Prince was pretty good looking. But that's probably the only positive thing I can think of. Ugh.

After that we went hot-tubbing. I think that's the first time I've ever been in one. It's already so hot in Singapore, why would I want to get in a HOT tub? Anyway, I didn't really like it. The water was way too hot. I felt like I was being scalded the whole time I was in the water so I had to keep getting out and in and out and in. Jacuzzis are still my favourite.

It's supposed to get up into the 70s today and then drop 40 degrees to the 30s tomorrow. Yeah, that's exciting. But at least I'm still alive. :( Deadliest school shooting in U.S. history, carried out by a South Korean Virginia Tech student. They say he's a "resident alien". Which only makes him sound more foreign than ever. I bet most people don't know that resident alien means he was actually a permanent resident which also means that he was probably born in the U.S. and was not here on a student visa issued from South Korea. But that's not very important. Can you imagine? 32 people shot and killed. Students were jumping out of classroom windows to get away.

I'm so glad I know that death is not the end of this life and that we can see our loved ones again. I just wish that everyone else knew it too so that they won't need to suffer so much. I want to share that message with as many people as I can.

    1) Actually in Zhang Ziyi's first film, Road Home, she did't die and *gasp* it was a happy ending. Unbelievable huh? But well I don't like Zhang Ziyi anyway so I can't be bothered if she dies or not

    2) How ca you not like HOT TUBBING? Very fun! But don't ever share the tub with 10 other people- very gross. All their germs... top
